Our business operations require absolute compliance with the company health and safety policies and applicable legislation. Active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary for the safety excellence this company expects.
People are our most valuable asset and we are committed to ensuring the health, safety and well‐being of everyone in the workplace Everyone is personally accountable for their own safety and the safety of others. Injuries can be prevented and we strive for an “Zero Harm” working environment, communication and consulting is the number one key to working together for a safer workplace.

Heavy Metal Equipment will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in property damage, incidents or personal injury/illness. All employees and contractors will be equally responsible for minimizing incidents within our facilities. Safe work practices and job procedures will be clearly defined and continue to be developed in the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Program for all employees to follow. All workers have a right to a safe and healthy work environment. Accidental loss can be controlled through good management in combination with active employee involvement.

We recognize that the responsibilities of safety are shared:

  • The senior management accepts the responsibilities for leadership of the Safety Management Program, for its effectiveness and improvement, and for providing the safeguards required to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Supervisors are responsible for developing the proper attitudes toward safety in themselves and those whom they supervise and for ensuring that all operations are performed with utmost regard for the safety of all personnel involved.
  • Employees and subcontractors are responsible for wholehearted, genuine cooperation with all aspects of the Safety Program, following all rules and regulations, and for continually practicing safety while performing their duties.

Our goal is to provide our staff and subcontractors with the knowledge and training needed to work safely in an environment free from hazards in order to achieve a healthy and injury free workplace.

We will be successful when we achieve our objective of zero harm. Heavy Metal Health, Safety and Environmental Management Program is not intended to override or replace a Prime Contractor’s Safety Program, it should be used to support it, and always remain in compliance with the current legislation.
Heavy Metal trusts that all employees will personally commit to making safety a way of life.
Heavy Metal Health, Safety and Environmental Management Program has been developed to work in conjunction with the Federal and Provincial Legislation. The Federal or Provincial Legislation shall remain the minimum standard within all jurisdictions. All employees should be familiar with the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code, the Alberta Traffic Safety Act and all other related legislation.
